Bolivia 2018 – Día Siete

After yesterday’s rain, we woke up to some cool air in Cochabamba; it was almost dropped to 65 degrees last night. We grabbed a quick pancake breakfast before heading to the worksite.

When we arrived, the floor of the extension had been poured, and all that remained were the internal walls and the roof of the extension. The internal walls were around 7 feet tall, and there were 5 of them that needed built.

So, between our team and the group of workers from the church, we divided up the 5 walls as evenly as we could. Some of us mixed cement and carried supplies, while we worked on the two walls we were responsible for. We worked on our walls until lunch (another fantastic soup lunch), and finished our work very quickly afterwards.

The only remaining task was the roof, which was delegated to the more well-trained workers from the church, and we were out of tasks for the day, so we returned home.

After dinner, we spent time debriefing and discussing our week. Carmen joined us to share with us the story of the House of Hope ministry, and to share a testimony of the work done here.

Tomorrow, we’ll finish up work at the church by installing the toilets in the bathrooms. We’ll catch our flight from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz at 6pm, and our first leg of the Santa Cruz to Washington trip leaves at 2:30am on Saturday.

As we prepare to leave, we ask that you pray for good health, sound sleep, and safe travels, and pray that our remaining time in Cochabamba will be used for God’s glory.

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

-Philippians 1:3-6
